I think the elitist political dynasty v. the common man is way out of balance.
No more Clintons, Bush's, or Kennedy's please.
You should be voted into office based on merit, not name recognition or rock star appeal.
Great, let's reconvene in a year and see whether Chicago is still a favorite gratuitous punching bag for threads like this. I'm going to put my money on "yes."

How is it obvious be specific.
The gun laws most of you are against in Chicago were struck down by the courts, and the state itself has lacker gun laws than the city and Indiana is just 50 miles away.

Actually Indiana is zero miles away. Chicago and Hammond border each other.

Contradicted your own argument. If you are voting on them based on merit, then what does it matter if they are are Clinton Bush or Kennedy ?

Because of past experience. True, if they're good, perhaps it shouldn't matter what their last name is.
Unfortunately, we put more stock in name recognition, folksy put-ons, and pretty boys rather than actual leadership capabilities.

Probably because for a long time Chicago had stricter gun laws and yet their murder rates was still 5x higher than the rest of the state.
The real irony is that Chicago pols and gun control advocates always blame "other states" or "the rest of the state" for their gun woes.
The non-Chicago part of Illinois has a murder rate comparable to Canada.
The real issue in Chicago is that most of the murders are gang related (75%) and involve minorities. The city has found that they can basically get away with not addressing the problem because they are politically immune and they don't want to spend the money on diversion programs etc.

1. Those murder rates have continued to fall
2. The guns being used to kill people in chicago arent being bought from within the city of chicago, they are being imported.
So yes, it is indeed the fault of other states and other communities because Chicago isnt supplying them with the weapons.
Not everyone should have a gun and guns shouldn't be allowed in certain places.
Can you imagine all of the fans having a gun on their hip at football games?
I think the left really are "drama queens" when they think or hear gun.....football people are not carrying guns, maybe a few, but to think all those type of people are CW holders, is hard to believe. Heck, I've been to plenty of NRA events and very few are carrying, although you never know who is........... I feel very safe.
