Just last week peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians fell apart once again after President Mahmoud Abbas' ongoing connection to the terror group Hamas suggests he doesn't believe Israel has the right to exist.
The secretary of state said that if Israel doesn’t make peace soon, it could become ‘an apartheid state,’ like the old South Africa.
He said that if they try to be a single state, it will be an apartheid state, unless it gives up its status as a Jewish nation... Which is what the Israelis themselves say.
Noting that Justice Minister Tzipi Livni and former prime ministers Ehud Barak and Ehud Ohlmert had all "invoked the specter of apartheid to underscore the dangers of a unitary state for the future," Kerry conceded that "it is a word best left out of the debate here at home."
However, Hanan Ashrawi, a member of the Palestine Liberation Organisation's executive council, ...
"He is using the word in the future tense, but [the Israelis] have already created an apartheid system in the West Bank," she said. "They don't like it when people use accurate terms to describe what they are doing. .... or have two separate legal systems....?"
It's sort of odd that Ashrawi makes this type of statement when during the formation of the Palestinian Authority they requested their own court systems, police, gov't system, etc and then turn around and state Israel created it to separate them.
John Kerry's choice of the word apartheid was poor but he wasn't the first to bring this up, inside and outside Israel have made the same point. There will become a time when Jews are a minority.
I think John Kerry doesn't really know what he is talking about.
He knows exactly what he's talking about. The Israelis are either going to stop and even retreat with the settlements and move towards a two state solution, or continue expansion into Palestinian lands and become Jewish run apartheid state with a possible Arab majority. The end game that doesn't involve another war is going to either one or the other.

The Palestinians don't want a Jewish minority. They want absolute 100% Palestinian Arab country with no Jews allowed. So again what John Kerry has stated is an irrelevant comment as the Israeli Arab citizens do have full rights in the Jewish state of Israel.
