"The alternative to a world led by the US is not a world led by China, Europe, Russia, Japan, India, or any other country, but rather a world that is not led at all. Such a world would almost certainly be characterized by chronic crisis and conflict. That would be bad not just for Americans, but for the vast majority of the planet’s inhabitants."
It'd probably be a much more peaceful and less corrupt place.
Absolutely. Like Nigeria, the Middle East many South American countries, Russia vs. Ukraine, all those peaceful countries keep getting hammered by the US.

Richard N. Haass, President of the Council on Foreign Relations, previously served as Director of Policy Planning for the US State Department (2001-2003), and was President George W. Bush’s special envoy to Northern Ireland and Coordinator for the Future of Afghanistan
What exactly is the "Future of Afghanistan?"
How would characterize or grade his, um, "coordination" efforts?
I'm guessing you don't realize that idiot has an agenda. Or maybe you do know, and you're just shilling. The flaw in his disinformation and propaganda is here... The US economy still accounts for about one-quarter of global output. If US growth accelerates, America’s capacity to consume other countries’ goods and services will increase, thereby boosting growth around the world.
How many Chinese Middle-Class are there? 300+ Million?
How many Indian Middle-Class are there? 300+ Million?
How many future Middle-Class in sub-Saharan Africa? 300+ Million
How many Middle-Class in Eastern Europe/Central Asia? 300+ Million
His goal is to maintain the status quo:
317 Million Americans -- 4.5% of Global Population --- consumes 32% of all non-oil resources
6.6 Billion non-Americans -- 95.5% of Global Population consumes the 68% of all non-oil resources the US says they can have.
You're gonna lose....his path leads you to misery and death.
Nazis would have taken over, or struck a deal with Russia and they both would have taken over. Concentration camps, work camps, starvation, poverty; just a dark world.
This is probably a very common question for discussion in military boot camps being brought up by the drill instructors to encourage patriotism among the recruits. By the time you graduate from a military boot camp, you are pickled and indoctrinated with patriotism. " Freedom is not free." A patriotism so strong you are willing to kill Communists and Muslims to make the rest of the world free.

Being well traveled and doing business in China and Europe there is plenty of corruption going on around us. Just pick your country.
Despite what one believes American has offered that balance verses the Empires of Europe , Russia, France Spain, Portugal, Great Britain, occupying most of Africa and the Far East. Ever since Marco Polo open the door to commerce to the far east. Even the Chinese Empire which lasted centuries even with invaders over a period of time.
The world would be a less charitable place without the out reach that Americans do for under developed counties and natural human lost of life, like a Hurricane.
Just think Europe may be control by Nazi Germany and the Far east would be under control of Imperial Japan.
Looking at what modern Western civilization is, the modern aspect arguably started with the United States, being the first nation to separate itself from divine rulers (kings and such). France followed shortly after, and in terms of European history, and even some aspect of American history, the French revolution is more influential that the American revolution.
But to take away America, as it is today, you'd need to remove colonialism from history, and to do that, you need to remove imperialism, and to do that you'd need to remove ethnocentrism (mainly Eurocentrism). Doing that would arguably make world history a lot less bloody, not because America is removed, but because the idea of superiority is removed. The crusades, for example, would not have happened (probably).
With that gone, the possibility of America not being colonized exists. The discovery of the Americas by Europe is likely inevitable, but how they go about handling their 'discovery' makes a huge difference.
However, I think the French Revolution was inevitable. If not in France, elsewhere. The idea of constitutional government had already existed since the Magna Carta. That started the idea that Kings maybe shouldn't be all powerful. So the modern governments of Europe could potentially still be around, and have one or more be leading the world where the Americas are not a factor.
There are many other factors to consider, but I do think there would be a world power. Perhaps it would be the European Union or an Eastern Asian country, like Japan. Maybe the Soviet Union would be the world power.
And for those of you saying the world would be less violent or corrupt. I doubt that. If that's the case, it wouldn't be the absence of America, it would be the absence of ideologies that caused Europe to drive to colonize the world. You are allowed to think America is just a war wager, and we do go to war often, and in my opinion, have done more wasteful wars recently, but European history is way bloodier than American history. Feel free to argue that, but I challenge you to find one American war that reached anywhere near the disaster that the two world wars reached.
