yeaaaa back to a heterosexual only sports league. WHoooooooo!!!!
Regardless this just proves that the rams wasted their 7th round pick. Very rarely do teams cut anyone they drafted that year
You REALLY think the NFL - or any league - is 'heterosexual only'? Just because other players haven't come out doesn't make them all straight. But, if it makes you fell better, continue to stay under that rock.
As to the draft picks - actually, it is a big deal when a team DOESN'T keep all of its picks in that season. The Rams alone cut FOUR of their picks in this draft, including Sam.
Does that make you giddy? You dredge up a 3 month old thread to strut over it? Some day, not too far away, the bigots won't care or comment about these things anymore.
One could hope for a time where it wouldn't be brought up for bigots to comment on.
I feel bad for the Rams organization as they will certainly face the wrath of the left wing media and LGBT organizations. It wouldn't surprise me if the Rams owner was forced to resigned and the franchise moves to Los Angeles. Of course that's the worst case scenario but lets hope it doesn't come down to that.
I can tell you that the "LGBT Sports Coalition" that includes over a 100 current and former pro athlete allies, is happy with the fact that Sam proved that an openly gay athlete can play in the NFL with no distractions as some anticipated. This goes a long way in showing gay youth, college and pro athletes that may want to come out, that they will be accepted.

After his play this preseason, he will easily find a job as a depth/role player. Worst case scenario he will clear waivers and spend the year on the Rams practice squad.
In the event he does not, it will have nothing to do with him being gay. Over 80 percent of pro athletes have no problem with a gay team-mate, and the other 20 will deal with it. The only feared distraction was from the media, which toned it down a lot about a week after the draft.
