Some Republics are Democracies.

Some are not.

Please explain.

Of course someone has the job. Us. We don't delegate our judgement to politicians in robes. Well, some of us don't.
Well if you ascribe to the idea that the Constitution does not grant rights only limits the governments powers, then who protects your rights against the whim of public opinion? A public that grants through its elected representatives, the power to inflict cruel and or unusual punishment upon you?

The forefathers were educated men who created the greatest government in history. Hell for 200 years the constitution has kept the corporate criminals and government psychopaths from taking complete control.

Todays leaders are complete morons who cannot even understand the constitution much less write one.

Todays constitution would be written by corporate lawyers to strip the country bare and turn it into Potterville.

Yea that's a great plan, we can call it the Obamastution!
It's unfortunate that so many people have this erroneous impression that our founders were these great people. They were opportunists in every sense of the word if you know your history. If you think that the majority of our founders had the same level of morality that the majority of our politicians today have, you are sadly mistaken. As much as we complain about people like Obama or Bush, we honestly have it a million times better than the common man did in "the good ol days." Have you ever seen the movie gangs of New York? That's actually what life in this country used to be like for most people.

The Constitution for dummies, according to Tea Party: everything done in the last 100 years is unconstitutional.

Far from it. The US Constitution are the rules.... the chains, We The People, placed upon the Federal Government, for it to even exist.

It is very clear in the liberty We The People are to keep, no matter what, to stay a free society.

It is very clear as to what our Freedom & Liberties are, as given to us all by our creator.
It is also very clear if they get so powerful by taking liberties, we the people said were untouchable,is to happen.

Take our liberty and we change it peacefully, or by blood.

Give me liberty, or give me death.
All I hear is I don't like how America has become....

All I hear is how weak you folks are talking instead of action.

Pretty much. You'd think they would use our legal system to get rid of all the unconstitutional legislation.... Bunch of ignorant cowards.

The proof is in the pudding. You have been the beneficiary of the wisdom and good intentions of the men who founded this country and who crafted the greatest document ever created the US Constitution.

Were they great people? No none of us are great people, but they had several times the knowledge and competency that any person of our present government.

You cannot begin to compare the level of morality of the people who founded this country to the criminals who occupy government today.

You are just another lame brain who gets their knowledge of history from movies and fabricates the rest.

As time goes on it will become more and more meaningless as it slowly becomes increasingly more difficult to both apply and defend. This has been a trend for the last century. Guys like Thomas Jefferson had no way to envision something like the internet, Airports, or cloning. They didn't foresee overpopulation, acid rain, or globalization. There was no such thing as genetically modified food or things like credit cards, vaccines, or massive corporations. I'm not trying to bash the constitution, as it was brilliantly written for it's day, but to use it as the standard in regards to the rules of our society is just silly at this point. It should be kept for historical reasons, but it needs a huge overhaul at this point, and it's only going to get worse. We shouldn't be arguing about the meaning of the constitution. It should be plain as day for anyone that understands law as to what the rules are. The entire notion of the supreme court arguing about what exactly something means that was written over 200 years ago is retarded. Our constitution shouldn't be a subjective religious document that's up for debate. It should be clear as day, which means it's it needs to be massively updated.

my 2 cents
There are procedures in place in the US Constitution to "change" it - we don't have to just shred it to do that. The reality is that we can either "change" it according to the rules in place OR, we can toss it and go to a Totalitarian (or something else) system and toss out all those protections for the Citizens and Separation of Powers that are enshrined in the US Constitution.

It's interesting to see how many want to do the "toss/shred" method to get what they think they want.

YOu are seriously speaking of the slave holding, misogynist and elitists that founded the country?

And you find all that admirable and better than today's equivalent?
