Poll: Majority of Americans Want to Keep Obamacare

A new poll has some bad news for those who want to repeal Obamacare. A new poll shows most Americans want to keep the law the way it is or just make some minor adjustments.

The CNN/ORC International survey finds 61% of Americans want to leave the Affordable Care Act alone or just make minor changes. Just 38% say the law should be repealed.

Gov. Rick Scott went on a ACA bashing trip to a nursing home in Boca Raton, and everyone he spoke with said they liked the ACA and wanted to keep it. Whoever scheduled that junket is likely looking for a new job and is not on Rick Scott's reelection team any more.

All the tales of doom and gloom by Republicans have about as much validity as their tales of WMD's in Iraq.

These folks simply cannot be trusted.

They are not calling it a success either, but if the choices are to repeal it or keep it, they would choose to keep it.

Of course people will favor it when they pay nothing for Medicaid or are getting subsidies that covers the lions share of the cost. And most of the same people do not consider the debt that will be added. And there are people like me who's employer stopped offering HC insurance and kicked everyone into the exchange. If Obamacare was ended I would have no health insurance since I can not afford 546 bucks a month and my employer does not offer HC insurance.

Even though I was against Obamacare all along I am stuck unless the {R}s have a good alternative plan to cover me that I can afford I am now against repealing Obamacare.

The November elections will reflect definitively if voters like the ACA. I think it will be a Dem bloodbath.

Historically speaking they SHOULD lose seats (ACA or no ACA), because that is what typically happens at this stage in the cycle.

Link to the actual poll. http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2014/im....obamacare.pdf

The article somewhat misrepresented the results.

Quote:
As you may know, a bill that made major changes to the country's health care system became
law in 2010. Which of the following statements best describes your view of what Congress
should do in the future: (RANDOM ORDER) Congress should leave the health care law as it
is, Congress should make some changes to the health care law in an attempt to make it work
better, Congress should repeal the health care law and replace it with a completely different
system or Congress should repeal the health care law and go back to the system we had before
it was enacted.
May 2-4
2014

Leave health care law as is 12%
Make some changes 49%
Repeal and replace 18%
Repeal, go back to original 20%
No opinion *
