The west Antarctic ice sheet is a glacier and sits on land, but is now sliding into the ocean....It would help if you read the article the OP linked to. The West Antarctic ice sheet sits in a bowl-shaped depression in the Earth, with the base of the ice below sea level. Warm ocean water is causing the ice along the rim of the bowl to thin and retreat.
A glacier is a glacier. An ice sheet is an ice sheet. The original poster obviously has these terms mixed up then to confuse the audience then.
The glacier there has broken off into the ocean creating icebergs for millenniums. That is what they do, unless they are landlocked.
The ice sheet surrounding Antarctica, is at record levels. That doesn't happen in a sauna.
So, there must be something else at play here, heating the soil from beneath the Glacier(not ice sheet) and not the air temp from above.

Why don't you read one of the two articles about this? It is all explained, particularly in the Nat geo article.
Looks like we've got some time to deal with it, but no sense in piddling around with something this serious.
I don't want the grandkids blaming me for destroying the planet and walking away from the mess.
Solution-
Every liberal needs to -
1. give up central heating and air conditioning
2. stop driving a car
3. stop taking private or commerical flights
4. stop using plastics
Since liberals are so concerned about 'global warming", they can do the above tasks and set an example for everyone.
................ meanwhile............ back in reality....... the sea ice and net volume of ice in the Antartic is at record levels. I guess the libs forgot about that part.

Actually you understand what is being hyped, has happened annually for millenniums.
The Thwaites glazier has created the Thwaites ice SHELF. Where it has created icebergs since Antarctica froze over.
The sea ice is what supports the ice shelf, being pushed out by the glacier.
