Waiters are not a minimum wage employees so that's out of scope of this discussion...

I don't think the demographics eating at mcdonalds would like to use automation to order and automation can't flip burgers or mop the floor as of yet.

Check Chilis, after tablets were installed, mine has several fewer staff every night. Multiply that by hundreds of Chilis nationally who have added tablets.

Applebees is adding 100,000 tablets. It too will no doubt cut staff.

within a few years, we'll be using self-serve systems to order food at most fast food/casual dining establishments. They do not laugh off labor cost increases. They offset them. That is good management.

Honestly I can't stand any of the big chain restaurants, they're already very impersonal.
My favorite style is a mom and pop restaurant where there is no automation, just good food.

I like the tablets at Chilis. It saves me time, and insures my order is input accurately.

mcdonalds franchise goes for some $1.5M, the owners make millions while the employees get peanuts and have to apply for food stamps to survive.

Those are the only jobs available to you if you have limited education or a criminal background

Wake me up when it happens and that robot learns to make fries, mop the floor and run after a customer who forgot his ketchup. Lol

Well, I could as well say that anybody who doesn't make six figures must be dull, and Bill gates would chime in saying that if you can't make a simple billion in your lifetime you're a real *******, but it doesn't change the fact that not everybody makes six figures and and not everybody can gain skills necessary to obtain a higher paying than minimum wage jobs. There are places in this country where fast food jobs are pretty much all you can get at the moment.

Isn't working at a call center as a customer service rep a better job than fast food?
