The PBS broadcast United States of Secrets makes a strong case for throwing former VP Dick Cheney and his lackey General Michael Hayden in prison for circumventing the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
Frontline is one show I can say is fair most of the time, actually an excellent series. I'm not sure if this is the exact quote but when they were going over the transition to Obama it went something like "Obama now owns it...." So the question is who in the Obama administration are we throwing into prison?

The OP has already twice acknowledged Obama's complicity in the disregard for Constitutional principle brought to light by this story. And yet....the pointless partisan sniping at the Hatfields by the McCoys that pollutes and derails most threads here threatens to take this one down as well. If only "Republicans" could begin to understand the damage they've done to conservative ideals in this country, how they've pushed away so many conservatives, and how they've elected so many Democrats in recent elections - to the detriment of us all.
Having fully acknowledged that neither major party has any respect for their obligation to serve the citizens in their best interests, why don't we focus on the macro problem at hand?

It's a divide and conquer strategy that seems to be working.
"On May 20, FRONTLINE continues the story of mass surveillance in America in part two of United States of Secrets, an investigation into the secret relationship between Silicon Valley and the National Security Agency.
Companies like Google and Facebook gather massive amounts of data on its users around the world, which they use to sell and create advertisements. To the U.S. government, it is a treasure-trove of information that regularly reveals what we do, who we know and where we go.
The revelations by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden helped to uncover the role the tech industry played — at times unwittingly, but often with consent — in the NSA’s massive dragnet.
So how did the tech giants react when the government asked them to turn over data on millions of ordinary American citizens? And how much do companies like Google, Facebook and Yahoo really know about you?"
agreed and the pbs report mentions that president obama himself is complicit in codifying many of the bush/cheney policies on domestic surveillance. This is by no means a partisan debate as both side have trampled the u.s. Constitution and if citizens don't demand reform things are only going to get worse.
it's hilarious reading people rant about privacy concerns on FB... all while giving up every detail of their day to day activity.
thats the part that truly amazes me. "we need face book to set up greater privacy for our accounts" " hey everyone check out my facebook page where i tell you everything about me and my future plans"

A corrupt and sleazy business model that should be illegal and should have been from the outset.
