well I guess you and I have different priorities then.
You believe that one idiot's behavior (like burning the Koran) should be protected by constitution even though many people lives have to be lost because of that idiotic behavior.
As long as that "idiot's" behavior doesn't directly harm another person, it should be protected.

Hah! So you are saying that if a group of people create chaos as a result of some idiotic action ... then, that is reason enough to outlaw that action?
Shouting fire in a public movie theater is a poor analogy to this case. No one is panicking when some goofball ruins a flag.
Who cares what one does with a piece of cloth? As long as they are not setting you or your property on fire, it is of no consequence to you or anyone else.
Well, if American flag is just a piece of cloth as you claim, then why burning it just to make a statement?

Yes. This is exactly what I am saying. Burning the Koran costs lives.
Burning American flag is dangerous. It should never be constitutional.
While it may make me angry to witness, individuals in this country, the USA, have the right to burn flags, religious books, etc. If you support our form of democracy you, we, support that right to burn.

lol .... so then it would just be a matter of rallying a few thousand people to create chaos and burn a few buildings to bully the US into changing laws I dislike?

well, freedom of speech is never free. Where do you draw the line is the question.
Freedom of one person is really other people's tolerance. If you believe freedom of speech should be 100% free, then that is your belief.
I believe freedom of speech is unattainable unless all men in their degree are capable of reason and moral responsibility.
