If you have a loved one who is currently serving in combat troops overseas, you might change your mind. Even if you don't care about the troops, watch this video. Americans all over the world can be killed due to one idiot's behavior. Is it really worth it to protect one idiot's freedom of speech? Yes burning the Koran should be illegal.
Oh, I see you. You are confused, because you see, we don't pass laws that apply to only one person. The law you want passed to restrict that one idiot's freedom of speech will restrict everyone's freedom of speech. That's how laws work.

And this is where I take pride in my old home country's decision to tell the offended parties that there would be no apology forthcoming, nor any action taken against the newspaper and cartoonists. Mad kudos to the competing newspapers who had argued that the cartoons were a bad idea - but who lost no time reprinting them after an attack was made on the first newspaper's editor.
Useless piece of information: In Denmark, you can burn the Danish flag as much as you want, but defacing another country's flag is a crime, historically because decisions regarding other nations were the privilege of the Crown and random subjects shouldn't start anything.
The Danes are so cool. If the weather were better, I'd ask them to let me in.
I am just trying to figure out if freedom of speech and express should be 100% absolute. That is all. My opinion really doesn't matter. Really.
this is NOTHING but a discussion. =)
I'm sorry, but I just read four pages of you stating, repeatedly, that you believe we should ban flag burning because the 1st amendment is not 100% and freedom isn't free.
That's been the crux of your argument and your position for the last four pages of this thread.
So, have you changed your mind?
