I think society tolerates and accepts homosexuals more than those who are anti-gay, but I'm not certain.

Which is more acceptable to you and the people in your life?

Other than my parents and in-laws, I don't personally know a single person who is vocally anti-gay. I think the majority of people in my age bracket and younger accept homosexuality without issue. I think it is just not that big of a deal anymore. Thank goodness.

I would say antigay still.

In the south we don't always agree with our parents and grandparents, but we generally accept them for who they are, and wait for their old bigoted ways to die out.

Thats why I say its more acceptable to be antigay. Its not accepted, but tolerated. Its a culture thing, and its generally why the south is so slow to change.

I would accept a homosexual person. No skin off my back either way. However my family has exiled homosexual family in the past.

You say you don't personally know a single person who is vocally anti-gay. I admit, that points to the problem with trying to poll a question like this. People often have private thoughts that are different from the thoughts they express out loud to others. I maybe should've asked the question this way: Which is more acceptable to YOU?

"Homophobe" (n) - A perjorative term invented by homosexual advocates, as a way of insulting normal people and trying to pretend a natural dislike of homosexuality is somehow grounded instead in fear.

Anyone is annoying when too vocal.

I've never met a "homophobe" though.

Most people are normal.

I have no idea. I don't talk about sex or sexuality much with people I know. At least not with people I consider just friends.

If I want to talk or think about sex, I'll either have it or read erotica. My sexuality is nobody's business and the sexuality of others is none of my business.

For the record, I've never met a "homophobe" either. I've met a few people who are claustrophobic or are afraid of heights. It was not a pretty site in any case. They totally freaked out, shut down, broke into a cold sweat, or were otherwise unable to function, and in one case became violent. I've never met anyone who has had that response to homosexuality. I have met folks who do not agree with or condone homosexuality, but then again, that is NOT a phobia... is it. No it's not. That's called an opinion.

Honestly, nobody cares if you are gay.

I think you are right about it.
Anti-gay people perhaps are really ancient.
