(Khartoum, Sudan) A Sudanese woman has been ordered to be flogged then hanged after converting to Christianity and marrying a Christian man.
The case has received little media coverage in the United States, there have been no hashtag selfies or Hollywood outcry.
Amnesty International called the court’s ruling “truly abhorrent.”
Because the Islamic country does not allow people to convert, it sees Meriam Yehya Ibrahim Ishag’s marriage as a form of adultery.
The judge told Ishaq, “We gave you three days to recant, but you insist on not returning to Islam. I sentence you to be hanged to death.”
The organization’s Sudan researcher Manar Idriss said that “adultery and apostasy are acts which should not be considered crimes at all. It is flagrant breach of international human rights law.”
The court has decided to allow Ishag to give birth before her hanging.
Amnesty International reported Ishag was raised as an Orthodox Christian, her mother’s religion, because her father, a Muslim, was reportedly absent during her childhood.
I read this story this morning, and its gnawing at me more and more.
These guys are a bunch of savages.
Imagine the news coverage and international backlash If a Christian even assaulted a Muslim At home here. There would be riots, and every news organization would eat that story up.
Vs a state sponsored murder for the crime of being a Christian and marrying a Christian.
Where are all the Hashtags and angry news reporters?

Does the OP know how many Muslim people in the world there are? It would be silly to think they are all violent people.
Why do you think Muslims are off limits? You are attacking all Muslims right now. It would be just as wrong of you to assume all Christians are the same as well.
There are no conservatives who have ever said that Muslims are friendly people?...really.
What is occurring in Sudan and Nigeria is getting media coverage and being roundly and justifiably condemned as brutal and barbaric. Violence and murder towards women and children is not a liberal or conservative issue it is one of conscience and right and wrong.
Incidents like that in Islamic dominated countries are not that unusual... also why they don't make the news much. It's awful.
The usual suspects will be here shortly to deflect and change the topic to "but, but, 500+ years ago the Christians..."
