I wonder the backstory as to why this law was created in the first place. Perhaps the intent was to shut down or prevent stores that specialize in toys from operating because some found it offensive. It's always something.

I'd be willing to venture a guess that the people who pushed this ordinance are of the conservative nature. You know, the ones that screams bloody murder when government sticks their nose in anything other than peoples' private lives.

You are probably right, proving many conservatives are control freak hypocrites just like their liberal counterparts who want government to dictate speech, dietary concerns, who one can associate with, etc. while screaming for the state to stay out of their private lives so they can screw and marry whatever they please

Good for her.

These laws are usually older and of the 'we are afraid someone somewhere is having fun' mentality that lead to things like stores being unable to sell alcohol on Sundays...which lead, funnily enough, to the invention of the ice cream sundae (according to legend, anyway).

Funny how folks like Frank have problems with regulating sodas...but not sex toys.
