A good portion of people do not have a clue and do not pay any attention until 2 weeks before a election. A good portion of them are then saturated with slick campaign ads and make a decision based on that. But in reality in most cases the people choose between the {R} corporate banker w***** or the {D} corporate banker w*****. But on the bright side they get a red white and blue bozo button that says I voted and gives them a chance to feel all patriotic.
I choose to encourage people to vote when I have the chance. You have to do what works for you.

"National holidays are socialism!" How do you even function in society while being so ignorant?
I knew that would get your attention.

Seriously, how did you ever come up with the name "Think4Yourself"? Every response I ever read from you you sound like part of the herd. Just repeating everything you are told without putting any critical thought into it. Try this, anything the MSM says don't just take it for granted that it is accurate or true. Research it, even from sources you don't like. Eventually you can tell who has an agenda to fill and who is being truthful.

I ran with the herd at one time, but I guess some of us just know when we are being shammed.

I hate you people who make no effort to vote. Elections like these are more important to our bottom-line budgets than most shenanigans from DC (except for Obamacare), and people just don't give a damn. Our school budget is so larded with pork and patronage it's disgusting, but people only want to talk about Dancing with the Stars or who won the Voice last night.

I would love to see a law nullifying any election when less than 10% of the registered voters get out and vote.
School levies are borderline crooked. They refuse to have them at the same time as national elections in the fall, when voter participation is highest. They make only the minimal effort required to meet the legal requirements of notification of an election. Then they promote only from within, with the "do it for our kids" mentality. And if they fail on one levy, they have another election for the same thing a couple weeks later, when, hopefully the opposition isn't paying attention.

There are a few things that should be done. Since these levys are only funded by property owners, only property owners should be allowed to vote on them. If they are held any time other than the national election day, they should be required to mail individual notification to every property owner. And third, if the levy is defeated, it is off the table until the following year. The system now is rigged in favor of special interests and against the taxpayer.

Also, we never get to vote on "pork barrel spending" could save a lot of money!

I'm okay with not everyone voting,I do wish more people would be informed when voting. Then again, it would help if more information was put out on candidates and not lies being spread.

You are actually making harsher and more cynical attacks on voters than has been done on non-voters. Just for the record and just making wild guesses that strangers are not informed.

I do not attack people I do not know who make the effort to take part in an important part of our citizenship: voting. I do not always agree with who my fellow Americans choose (ex..both of Bush's victories), but we have to accept the result. (As to your family and friends, you would have some knowledge of them, so no disagreement there).

Um, I rather have the uninformed not to vote than to mindlessly vote for politicians they don't know about or issues they don't have a clue about.

LOL. Glad you got that rant off of your chest, and hope you are feeling better now. I encourage people to vote, but it's up to them. Not going to waste time or energy being angry at them.

It's not that so many people do not vote, it's that so many are woefully ignorant of what our government, politicians and bureaucrats are doing.

I'm actually happy when these people stay home, because they will just vote from utter ignorance and likely only fell hook, line and sinker for dishonest propaganda and outright lies from some corrupt politician.

Well, I voted today!!!

Low voter turnout? I don't care. The fewer of them - the more my vote counts!!!!!

I agree I am cynical of democracy and voters and looking at the broken gvts around the world I have good cause. But I do as you accept the results and in most cases it does not matter to me. Like I stated before are choices are the {R} banker/corporate w**** or the {D} banker/ corporate w***** and the voters choose their poison.
