I wish my wife would take 'menstral leave' from our marriage one week from every month.

I'm not against it. For some women, periods bring on strong pain that can be debilitating, heavy bleeding, and depression every month. I can understand why some people cannot relate because they never experience the symptoms.

And hot flashes! Don't forget those debilitating hot flashes. The poor wretches suffering from hot flashes should be able to 'take a breather' (think of it as an extra lunch!) when they're feeling under the weather. People underestimate the dangers of a real and truly horrific hot flash.

Men should get mid-life crisis and hangover leave.

I had a woman who worked for me who decided to not have children. She would always mildly complain that many of her co-workers would get three months paid maternity leave. As she said....that was their choice why should i not get a paid leave because i made a different choice.

In some ways, she was right.

Paid medical leave sounds like a proper response to a worker that cannot work due to a medical problem. Self induced hangovers are not a medical problem but well deserved punishment.

Not having to put up with menstrual periods is one of the reasons I am very glad I am male. Another reason is I was praised for being an adrenaline crazed madman with a gun once in my life. Now I am just an older guy with memories.

I don't think it should be paid leave, but probably an excused absence.

I hear you. I heard hot flashes are horrible. I am so glad I don't get them. Periods are not the same for every women. I had my own share of crazy periods. LOL
