Just because you used words line straw man or fallacious doesn't make your post any more intelligent, but if you propose that we run a country of 300 million in a complex and fast paced XXI century the same way we ran a country of 3 million in XVIII century that you'd simply look silly, just like the rest of the so called Tea Party... Lol

Because they are simpleton extremist morons more interested in obstructionism than doing anything productive. I much prefer the traditional conservative who doesn't try to sabotage US creditworthiness for some short-term political point scoring.

No, they aren't. Most are people who simply want similar things to what you want.
There is an extremist element to the TEA party, as well as the Republican party, as well as the Democratic party.
The TEA party label started getting slapped on everything because of the wave that it had created. But many things that you are calling them "simpleton extremist morons" for have nothing to do with Taxed Enough Already.
Taxes are the 3nd lowest they have ever been in our nations history.
If I accept that's true, does that mean they're not high now? Of course not. It only means they aren't at their highest right now.
The middle class is paying in many cases, 50% or more of their income in taxes, when all of them are considered. (State/Fed income, Medicare, SS, sales, property, gas, telephone, etc.) Also consider what they are getting in return. In a free market/capitalist economy, by any reasonable measure, that is high.
Can there ever be meaningful dialogue between either party? Both are completely convinced that the other is wrong. In the end, you're all just talking AT each other and not talking TO each other.
There can be that dialogue ... if the coup which has taken-over the GOP in the U.S. House of Representatives stands-down and fulfills its fiduciary duty to the people of the USA.
Nobody is going to spend time thinking about. There is no going back, the world getting more complex by the minute and there is going to be more regulation not less. Get used to it.
That's a poor justification for the government having control over virtually every aspect of your life.
It is not now, nor has it ever been the governments role to play nanny.

But I guess you must be OK with these "traditional conservatives" sabotaging our creditworthiness for some other reason? Pot, meet kettle. I never cease to be astounded by the comments posted here.

The coup you are speaking of is in the Democrat Party..They are called Progressives (Communists). Get educated and don't be a useful idiot.
They are obstructionist. Their number one goal is not to make the lives of Americans better but to make the black, muslim, foriegn born president look as bad as possible.
