Dictatorship? Well, this is how I see it. It was a dictatorship for Japanese-Americans who were being put into internment camps. It was a dictatorship for Blacks who were being subjective to everything from slavery to Jim Crow. When wasn't a segment of the population put under some form of dictatorship in the USA?

I looked back through the Constitution and reread Article II, which describes the executive branch. Here are the president’s significant powers:

Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States: If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it.

The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States.

He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for.

He shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and shall Commission all the Officers of the United States.

He's not justified in ignoring Congress, strad.

Reid's said that he wants to change the law.

I have a feeling that Reid and Democrats are going to regret the nuclear option.

I doubt it. No matter what party is in office we need to be able to fill those slots.

Keep in mind they didn't use the nuclear option completely, just for a very specific subset of votes.

And Obama wants to be king, too. And your point is...?

Both GW Bush and Obama are and were horrible presidents.

We became a dictatorship 12 years after God and Jesus slayed the last of the dinosaurs and defeated the Nazis; the gay-atheist-Muslim-communist coalition converted our nation to a dictatorship by replacing Jesus with Carl Sagan as our lord and savior.

Seriously, what is with people? "He's a Nazi" "He's a dictator." Why does a leader get called a dictator every time he/she does something they don't like. Seriously. Think of something better to say. We are clearly not in a dictatorship. Do you know how I know? We elected the dictator! He has yet to remove voting rights, and until he does that, we will elect a different leader in 2016. If Obama's a dictator, he's not very good at it.

Talking When did America become a dictatorship?

"Americans" whining about their sufferings under a dictatorship are amusing, in a pitiful way.
