Because it's cheaper than actually enforcing the law. Here in Texas, immigration isn't touched by our conservative legislation... They know the donor money will run dry.

The current path for immigration. Starts by applying for a VISA and paying the application fees, in nation of origin. This is followed by interviews, in the nation of origin. This is followed by waiting until you are granted a VISA before entering the United States. Do you now see the difference in paths? For my step daughter that wait is a 7 to 10 year wait.
DREAMer Tolu Olubunmi Introduces President Obama - YouTube
Tolu is a dreamer and an illegal. Obama represents her as if she is the typical Dreamer, or illegal.
No the intent was to persuade the American public that Tolu represents the average dreamer and that we are heartless if we don't pass reform. She is exceptional, no question about it, but she is hardly representative of the average illegal.

Laws with teeth. Mandatory E-verify with substancial fines and jail time would convince a large number of employers to look else where for their cheap labor. Today employers escape prosecution because they can claim that they didn't know. Remove the excuse and the rope is around their neck. Few people would invite such consequences. Especially after the first few are caught.

Funny how you defend the 2nd amendment but want to abolish the 14th one. I thought you were all for following the constitution. Obviously only when it suits you

The 14th amendment was never orginally for the purpose of people to come here illegally and give birth to beat the immigration laws and access the generous welfare handouts.
Most and only are 2 different words that are not synonyms.
Very little difference and you know it --- Obama said it's just people being stopped at the border.
What you know full well is that Obama intends to reward those who come here illegally and eliminate the immigration laws so that in the future, there will be no border agents stopping them.
Why? Why with still too many Americans out of work, does Obama intend to dramatically increase the supply of cheap labor?
