Two politically extreme states yet they came and came and came and are still coming !
The idea has always been to "tax the other guy more". Raising taxes is fine as long as it's the other guy getting his taxes raised. Once it you it's time to move.

I think your comment is a bit naïve.

That just means you're wrong. People are fleeing high tax, high unemployment states.

It is common for people to migrate from more populated states to less populated states. Texas is an exception, but that has more to do with the amount of land they have for the amount of people who live there.

People are fleeing high tax areas and voting to raise taxes where they are moving.

With all the land we have the transplants all settled along the I-35 corridor.
Traffic jams amuck in the cities..bumper to bumper on I-35 now.

And here I am a mere 2 hours away with my empty rural roads at 70mph
Rush hour out here is having 2 people pass you on your way to town

No they certainly didn't spread out when they came to Texas.
Poor Austin..there's a line of car pollution visible as you come into the city now hanging over I-35.

The middle of the article states that it probably has little to do with taxes and more to do with job changes and life changes. It also doesn't account for the number of people who moved to Maryland.

Well that is the state of Texas's problem to deal with.

You can make all the silly excuses you want, people are fleeing overtaxed states like yours for states that allow their residents to keep more of what they earn.

False, my wife and I are fleeing New Jersey for Oregon because that is where our family roots are. People move for jobs, retirement, and family reasons before moving for tax reasons.
