I don't "need options", I can say whatever I want, whenever I want to whomever I want as long as I'm willing to handle the consequences of what I've said. That's a choice that I make, not anyone else. Like many other people, I'm done giving a damn what might possibly offend certain people because no matter what I say or do those people will always find something to be offended by and they'll blame me for it.
I just don't care, I sleep well at night knowing that I may have possibly offended a couple stupid people by what I've said. If someone using a generic term like "negro" sends you into a rage where you consider physical confrontation to be acceptable then I've got no use for your dumb ass in my life nor do I really care what offends you. I come from a world where people have civil conversations, they talk out their problems and they resolve things like human beings.
I get called "negro" every now and then, because I speak Spanish and Portuguese. But it's not an ethnic or racial term for me.
I do not agree that education leads to liberalism. It may for some, and not for others. Most of my family, friends, and acquaintances are well educated, and conservative to varying degrees.
I think the OP has #3 at least partly wrong. The Tea Party as a political movement is not racist. Some people within the TP movement are racists. That people associate the TP with racism is the result of constant misrepresentation via the media and Democrats. Add that the TP is not very good at communicating.
But there should be little doubt that some Democrats are racists too.
I agree the GOP has almost zero ability to deliver a useful message to black people. I think though that many conservative and libertarian positions should be positive to minorities in general. Unfortunately the GOP is just awful communicating.
What message do they want?
