It is, but look at it another way. You have people demanding that gun manufacturers be held accountable when a thug uses a gun to commit a crime. It's the same mentality. Take the blame away from the perp and put it on someone else.
There has been a rash of these things happening ever since the advent of $200 sneakers. Now we have people being assaulted for things like smart phones, headphones and the like.
Are you at fault for buying and walking around certain areas wearing and using these goods, or should the "fat cat" owners, like Nike or Dr. Dre be held accountable?
by that reasoning then, we should be able to sue the federal reserve every time someone gets robbed, or the credit card companies when credit card numbers get stolen. or perhaps the automakers when a car gets stolen. my brothers guns got stolen last year, should he be able to sue the gun manufacturers?
if this ever happens, then we can kiss any possible chance to fix the economy as the only people that would be getting rich would be the lawyers, and no one would take the chance on making anything ever again.
