?????? You've probably never seen who the various Farm PACs contribute money to. Pretty hard to characterize agribusiness as "anything but conservative" in California. Politics isn't about what you see on the surface, it's where the money goes.

Padilla, Alex (D-CA) $2,500
Costa, Jim (D-CA) $1,000
Farr, Sam (D-CA) $500
Garamendi, John (D-CA) $2,000
Huffman, Jared (D-CA) $1,000
Lofgren, Zoe (D-CA) $2,500
Thompson, Mike (D-CA) $500
Vargas, Juan (D-CA) $1,500
Hill, Jerry (D-CA) $3,000
Lara, Ricardo (D-CA) $5,000

That's just what is "legally" reported. Behind the scenes? Well... there's a reason why someone as powerful as liberal heroine Diane Feinstein can openly challenge the "eco" part of the left constituency over where water goes in California, and it's no surprise it's going towards agribusiness.

To be fair, Farm PACs give some nice coin to Conservatives too, but to say agribusiness is "anything but conservative" is simply being ignorant about how politics really works in this state.

That's "anything but conservative"?

Nearly HALF the money that was donated was to *******s!

I guess that's why the entire Central Valley is so ultra-liberal.

Spoken like someone who doesn't understand how politics actually works.

You can call them whatever you like.

No, pejoratives don't make my argument, but a strong argument based in fact does, so much so that you unwittingly helped prove my point in exposing the myth that agribusiness is "anything but conservative". When your supposed opponent helps you out, you know you're on very strong ground.

Spoken like someone who needs to find a coherent way to explain why, if agribusiness is so "firmly in the pockets of the libs," the entire Central Valley outside Sac County votes solid red in every election.

Maybe it's all those illegal immigrants who are voting Republican. Yeah, that must be it.

Okay smart guy, why are the Farm PACs donating half their money to *******s? Can you explain that one cool guy?

In your very limited understanding, you think "agribusiness = republican", that just shows how limited your comprehension is when it comes to understanding how things work. Agribusiness doesn't care about red or blue, they care about who can get things done, and that's why the money is flowing the way it does now.

You know ******* icon Feinstein is getting lots of agribusiness money in her pockets.

So why does the Central Valley, whose dominant industry is agriculture, consistently vote Republican?
