Not to defend her and her statements but she's black herself. So according to most of society, that is okay.

According to most of society, it's okay to criticize/insult your own race. But if it's another race then it is controversial.

Kinda like with the n-word. Black ppl can say the n-word w/no consequences but whites often do face consequences as a result.
