NYC Launches New War Against Rats

It will target so-called “rat reservoirs,” which are areas where rodent populations survive and thrive, such as subways, sewers and city parks.

...
The city will hire new inspectors and spend $600,000 for rat indexing to track and reduce the rat population, WCBS 880′s Paul Murnane reported.

...
“I see about 20 a day,” a man in Washington Heights told 1010 WINS’ John Montone.

One woman said rats have infested her building on 154th Street, where one rodent bit a neighbor’s daughter.

I am pretty sure there is a banned pesticide that would wipe out the infestation. They choose to spend $600K on a tracking program. Ridiculous.

You know, if they would just fund rat abortions it wouldn't be a problem.

Those evil republicans and the Koch brothers are to blame.

Well if they are calling it a war - it will probably involve a dialogue with the rats at some point, since that's what we do now.

The truth is that police drops vermin on top of the building via helicopters, every year or so. You can't tell because it is too dark.

If they wanted to get rid of the rat problem, they would just have people use a high frequency sound that tell rats to run outside and commit suicide.

Another truth is that, pest control, people raise them, and release them year round. So they never go away. Also they can live off the plaster, as well. You can't get rid of them in the sewers, because they will just take the bait to the nearest restaurant, or warm dwelling.

From your own quote, '$600,000 for rat indexing to track and reduce the rat population'.

I guess you just overlooked that part, huh?

That's because rats are infesting NYC.

I read that - so what? What are they going to DO to reduce the rat population?

Get some pesticide. Get some rat poison. Don't track them, kill them.
