I like Carl Jr.'s food. If they raise the price of their food 25¢ to cover the cost of a higher wage to their employees, it won't stop me from going to Carl Jr. at all.
In fact, I think the food I already enjoy will become even better, as their employees will be happier making it, and will have more experience, as they will be more content to stay with the company.
For sure, the cost of meat is going up. All burger joints have increased their prices steadily for many years. But if they all pay their workers a higher wage, they all stay competitive with each other. A higher minimum wage floats all boats just the same, no matter what a businesses' products are.
If i was working at a Target store and got a raise in my minimum wage, and the person who served me a hamburger got the same raise in her minimum wage, it all balances out. The only difference is the girl who handed me my burger now has enough money to buy more comfortable shoes from the Target store I work in because she can now afford them.
In return, I will get a happier drink re-fill from her because her feet don't hurt. She spends an extra buck at my store, I spent an extra quarter at hers.
Raising the minimum wage is not a zero-sum game. All sides win.

Really? Maybe you can answer this question that your fellow supporters of raising the minimum wage have been avoiding every time I bring it up:
When is the last time that raising the minimum wage had the long term effect of lifting minimum wage earners out of poverty? Go back to 1938 when it was forced on us, and work your way forward. One example is all I want. Good luck.
When you get done with that exercise in futility, take a short course in basic economics.

LOL @ "FORCED."
Yeah, the American people were up in arms at the idea.

Where's you math that verifies your statement ?
Carl Jr.'s is a franchise so each store is independently owned with their own set of costs/revenue.
How can you possibly make that blanket statement for each franchise ?
