We should not tolerate bad treatment but you do understand this is not the first time it happened, blame the last several presidents and congresses. America evidently says one thing but the treatment of our veterans indicates something else.
Whoa NCN said THIS PRESIDENT, and of course you pull out Bush. That is getting so old.
I agree we should not tolerate the poor treatment of our soldiers, with no buts.
Why is it so hard for the left to see the timing of this? A few weeks ago the VA gets clobbered with scandal, and now, after 5 years, this guy is traded for?
Is it really that hard to be suspect of anything Obama does? His timing is incredibly transparent.
Obviously you're in a hurry to convict him on the basis of some web blogs and tweets.
You sound like those people who didn't believe that O.J. actually did it.

A Pentagon investigation concluded in 2010 that Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl walked away from his unit, and after an initial flurry of searching the military decided not to exert extraordinary efforts to rescue him, according to a former senior defense official who was involved in the matter.
If it was your son/brother/husband/father/friend that was getting released, you'd think 5 prisoners from Gitmo was an infinitesimally small price to pay.
And if you were the son/brother/husband/father/friend of those six who were killed searching for Bergdahl when he walked off his post?
We were at OP Mest, Paktika Province, Afghanistan. It was a small outpost where B Co 1-501st INF (Airbone) ran operations out of, just an Infantry platoon and ANA counterparts there.
The place was an Afghan graveyard. Bergdahl had been acting a little strange, telling people he wanted to “walk the earth” and kept a little journal talking about how he was meant for better things. No one thought anything about it. He was a little “out there”.
Next morning he’s gone. We search everywhere, and can’t find him. He left his weapon, his kit, and other sensitive items. He only took some water, a compass and a knife. We find some afghan kids shortly after who saw an american walking north asking about where the taliban are. We get hits on our voice intercepter that Taliban has him, and we were close. We come to realize that the kid deserted his post, snuck out of camp and sought out Taliban… to join them. We were in a defensive position at OP Mest, where your focus is to keep people out. He knew where the blind spots were to slip out and that’s what he did.
It was supposed to be a 4-day mission but turned into several months of active searching. Everyone was spun up to find this guy.

6 died searching for him, 8 more because of the search.
At least six soldiers were killed searching for Bergdahl. Staff Sergeant Clayton Bowen and Private First Class Morris Walker were killed by an IED on August 18, 2009. Staff Sergeant Kurt Curtiss was killed on August 26. 2nd Lieutenant Darryn Andrews and Private First Class Matthew Michael Martinek were killed in the Yahya Khail District on September 4. Staff Sergeant Michael Murphrey was killed by an IED at the Forward Operating Base in Sharana on September 5. A spokesman for the Pentagon said that it's impossible to confirm right now whether anybody's death was directly linked to the search for Bergdahl, but said the Pentagon will look further into the circumstances of the deaths being associated with the search.
Further, due to resources being diverted to find Bergdahl, the closing of Combat Outpost Keating was delayed, which led to another 8 American soldiers being killed on October 3, 2009 after 300 Taliban insurgents overran the base.
Once again - the O-Team forgets about the Internet and how it documents everything.
Total Amateurs.
