You have to wonder if any WH aide did any due diligence on Bergdahl before sending Obama to completely step in another clusterfrack. Didn't anyone in the WH think to ask why the Taliban kept an American prisoner alive for 5 years? Why a 5 for 1 swap? Why make an end-run around Congress that so obviously breaks the law? IMO they were so desperate to get a feelgood story out to counter the growing anger over the VA scandal, the administration was willing to throw away years of publicly stating there would be no negotiation with terrorists.
You libs remember how thoroughly Iran/Contra was torn apart by Congress and the media? The same thing should happen now.

To top that off, having the government negotiate with a terrorist organization and releasing captured terrorists who will try to kill more Americans in the future, is a mighty steep price to pay for one disloyal American.
I will say this about our liberal CD forum members, few have come to his aid in this thread because they know his actions are indefensible in this instance.
Maybe his cult following does have certain limits?
I have noticed that also and it is just not in this thread but others where Obama hardly gets any defense. The kool aid must have become diluted and lost its punch.
I wonder if he even understands why the public is upset?
