Then why did you link to the one that (accurately) does? And why did tou use the $83,000 number as if it were some new expansion by Democrats when that limit was applied by the State of New York, and has in fact applied under the existing program since the day that it did?

The word is 'moot', and the purpose of S-CHIP is to provide health care funding for children on welfare.

If you'll recall, Bush already vetoed S-CHIP once back in October. Congress amended it to address his absurd objections and sent it back to him. The Spoiled Brat in Chief vetoed it again. This unfortunately is the kind of thing that can happen when you're dealing with the worst President in US history.

If everyone votes, you need 290-145 in the House to override a veto. In the Senate, you need 67-33. The votes are there in the Senate. Not quite in the House. In the House, you merely have overwhelming bipartisan support for S-CHIP...just not enough to force it past Bush's latest obstructionist attempt to override the will of Congress and the American people.

So Bush refuses to give $35 billion to fund healthcare for poor children in the US, but at the same time keeps on demanding more and more funds to support his war effort!

That's very christian of him!... No funding for the poor children! The money must be used to kill people (they're muslim, but they're human too!)

This is the kind of thing that shocks me, because I am a christian myself, and cannot begin to understand how a man can urge his fellow citizens to pray, and claim he talks with God, but then goes and takes these decisions...
Mathew 7:16 says "By their fruit you will recognize them...". I fear mr Bush has not read Mathew 7:21-23 with the required care.

Plus, the Bush's Administration's position on global warming... What? Are they waiting for any more disasters to start doing something about it? Are they waiting for others to do something about it?
When people want to do something about the environment, there's always something in the way... What was that? Oh, right... $$$...
I sure hope California's fuel effiency standards get a go. It goes to show some people are committed to the matter, and want things to change!

That's just so appalling! Get that man out of office as soon as you can!
The media is biased. Do not believe everything you read.

I have applauded Bush for refusing to go along with the global warming idiots. Its one of the few good things he's done as president.

As for this bill, I can see valid reasons to support it and reject it. But the Dems and left crowd would rather discuss the "Bush hates children" angle.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, when the Dems start using children in an argument, be VERY suspicious of their motives.

It all boils down to protecting business interests.

Same reason why he was against student loan reformation that would hurt "private banks."

It never ceases to amaze me how someone who LITERALLY has had the world handed to him on a silver platter through basically no effort or hard work on his own part can think the rest of us are impressed by his anti-socialism rantings.

The Democrats are VERY WELL AWARE what type of bill they can pass to get the veto overwritten by other Republicans, or the bill signed by Bush, its the Democrats who are trying to use this as a political statement by not getting a bill that is signable.
Given the housing costs overinflated by the free market in some areas of the country, 80K isn't a lot.......unless you want to commute 3 hours a day.

If one does not have all the facts in regard to a situation, please understand that it is difficult for others to sympathize/empathize with their opinion, and one might even question the need to express it.

Okay, all done. Hopefully that will pass muster.

I would love from someone to explain all the "facts" that they keep telling our foreign friend he is unaware of.

The fact Bush signed this in private instead of in front of a big American Flag with a Mission Accomplished Banner in the background speaks volumes.

Then it looks like the bill needs modified again to get enough votes to override the veto dont you?

Amazing that when the Democrats fillibustered, such as with Joe Biden, the democrats were the HERO's.. When the Republicans do.. they are mean old men..

Then of course you have Nancy Pelosi, questioning if fillibusters were even constitutional, UM.. YEAH they are..

Its called create bills with support from BOTH parties, or face having them veto's..

Funny.. last time when he signed it in front of national tv, people said the same.

Which is it.. do you want him to do it in private, or public? Seems like people just want to criticize either way.

No they didn't. They were just criticizing him then for vetoing a bill with large popular public support, not for doing it on TV. You see the distinction, I hope.
