Back on topic, take Oakland and Chicago for instance. Years and years of Democratic intervention to try and "stop the crime", and it's been decades since these cities have been considered normal in terms of crime. They regularly top the Top 10 in gun homicides, and have some of the strictest gun laws in the country.

Republican Giuliani transforms New York City (largest city in the U.S) in less than 10 years from somewhat shady city to fairly safe large city.

Maybe the liberal left ideas on how to curb violent crime simply don't work.
Yeah... because Giuliani transformed NYC into a gun-toting conservative utopia

Chicago and Illinois do NOT have the strongest gun laws and the highest murder rate.

Gulliani was the best thing to happen to NYC after dinkins ran it into the ground.

When the gun laws were enacted were there any guns already in the city? Are there checkpoints as you enter the city that look for people bringing in more guns?

Chicago is weird because they had more guns than population in the city prior to the gun laws. Al Capone and the alike were handing out guns like candy. Only a small portion of those guns ever made it off of the streets.
