Anyone not brainwashed by political correctness can see that it's racial demographics based. Seattle & San Jose are democrat strongholds with low violent crime but that's a very different demographic than Detroit or New Orleans.

Really whether you talk about a city, a state, country it comes down to how much corruption you tolerate. A culture with low tolerance for corruption thrives and a culture with high corruption becomes a toilet.

2 - Detroit, MI - Strong Support for Democrats
3 - Oakland, CA - Strong Support for Democrats
4 - Bridgeport, CN - Leans Democrat
5 - New Orleans, LA - Over 100 years of Democratic dominance
6 - Cleveland, OH - Strong Support for Democrats
7 - St. Louis, MO - Strong Support for Democrats
8 - Jackson, Miss - Leans Democrat
9 - Baltimore, MD - Strong Democratic Support
10 - Newark, NJ - Over 150 years of Democratic dominance

There isn't a single Republican leaning city in the Top 10. Can anyone explain why this is?
I'm sure the top 10 most peaceful cities in the US are also Democrat strongholds. Cities in general are Democrat. That's the way it works - the more people you pack into a smaller area, the more that area will lean Democrat. The more rural an area is, the more that area will lean Republican. Texas is a red state, but Houston is blue. Georgia is a red state, but Atlanta is blue. California is a blue state, but the rural counties are red. New York is a blue state, but the upstate counties are red.

Because they have higher minority populations, and high minority poverty rates.

Mississippi population: 58% White

Poverty Rate by Race/Ethnicity:

White: 16%
Black: 44%
Hispanic: Not Sufficient Data

Georgia population: 56% White

Poverty Rate by Race/Ethnicity:

White: 15%
Black: 33%
Hispanic: 36%

Texas population: 42% White

Poverty Rate by Race/Ethnicity:

White: 12%
Black: 29%
Hispanic: 33%

Poverty Rate by Race/Ethnicity | The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation

The pattern is clear. Areas with high minority poverty rates have the characteristics you list.

Illinois is only Democrat because of Chicago and East St. Louis, both of which also happen to have the highest crime rates in the state. The rest of the state is red.

I would have agreed with you if the numbers agreed. But you analysis is incorrect according to the numbers.

Arkansas is 75% white, still suffers from all those inadequacies (similar to the states you mentioned above). Kentucky is 85% white and still suffers from those inadequacies (with the exception of theft rate where it scores fairly nicely). Tennessee is 75% white and is similar to Arkansas.

What are their poverty rates by race/ethnicity? That's where the problem lies. Minorities over-represented on the poverty rolls.

Furthermore, public schools are a huge factor in low IQs. Our country's public schools educate only 1/3 of all public school students to grade-level proficiency. Red state public schools are more integrated than blue state public schools. The bottom is pulling down everyone else. Education statistics bear all that out.

And the same can be said about the top 10 safest big cities which are all liberal. Basically cities, good or bad, tend to be liberal.
