So now the friggin Taliban dictate whether Obama follows law or not? This WH is crooked and incompetent
False..this was discussed in 2011 and Gates, Clinton and Panetta were against it because the Taliban wanted their top 5 terrorists back and that we don't negotiate with terrorists.
How do we hold him accountable and not those that create the situation to start with?
Thats a very touch question. But he did volunteer.
But just because we have a volunteer force doesn't mean the rest of us shouldn't try our
best to keep them out of unjust conflicts. I think that starts with who we vote for as
President. After all, he is the Commander in Chief.
James Madison changed "make war" to "declare war" in order to leave to the Executive
the power to repel sudden attacks but not to commence war without the
explicit approval of Congress.
As far as I am concerned, Presidential Wars are therefore unconstitutional.
And, committing U.S. troops to wars at the discretion of the U.N is too.
We have strayed so far from what to declare war really should mean.
The way they have twisted and colluded the Constitution, it is impossible to charge
our leaders with crimes against humanity.
We have made it all too easy for our country to go to war, and for that,
it is the biggest crime of all.
Oh??? And just where would you have held enemy prisoners that were trying to kill Americans???
If it was a true declared War we would do what we did with them in World War II:
Put them in a POW camp right here in the US.
"In the United States, at the end of World War II, there were 175 Branch Camps serving 511 Area Camps containing over 425,000 prisoners of war (mostly German). The camps were located all over the US but were mostly in the South because of the higher expense of heating the barracks in other areas. Eventually, every state (with the exceptions of Nevada, North Dakota, and Vermont) had POW camps. Some of the camps had to be designated "segregation camps" and used to separate the Nazi "true believers" from the rest of the prisoners, whom they terrorized and even killed for being friendly with their American captors."
