Care to comment on this moral compass?

The history of religion and culture, natural law has been simply solidified prejudice and bigotry.

Another example occurred in 1869, when the Georgia Supreme Court ruled that:

Quote:
"...moral or social equality between the different races...does not in fact exist, and never can. The God of nature made it otherwise, and no human law can produce it, and no human tribunal can enforce it. There are gradations and classes throughout the universe. From the tallest archangel in Heaven, down to the meanest reptile on earth, moral and social inequalities exist, and must continue to exist throughout all eternity."

Not talking about man-made morality. God's morality makes it very clear, man/woman. Doesn't say anything about race. The Christian baker is in touch with that morality and chose to not be a party to something that violates that.

The State can deny both, the former in most states and the latter in all states. Now having equal legal benefits is a right, one that gay couples are entitled to, but that is different than the term "Marriage" as the definition of said term does not apply to homosexuals anymore than it applies to polygamists.
The 14th Amendment would most certainly apply here.

The Equal Protection Clause is part of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. The clause, which took effect in 1868, provides that no state shall deny to any person within its jurisdiction "the equal protection of the laws".

What is happening here with this baker is Tyranny. A small, militant lifestyle group and their sheeple soldiers are using the Government to force this man to violate his deeply held Religious Beliefs and do something against his very will. The 1st Amendment outlines our Right to Freedom of Religion from The State, the Government cannot violate it. But yet here it is, the Government is being used as a weapon by this small and militant lifestyle group to bully him into doing so, and if he refuses then what? Will his business be shutdown? His livelihood destroyed? His God given right of pursuing his Prosperity and the American Dream stripped away? Is this what we as Americans really want? Do you TRULY want this to happen? How can people be okay with this and not only that, but to actually support it? It's a scary thing, truly. Our very Country was founded against this very thing!
The 1st should protect the baker.

This is not about tolerance, this is not about "anti-discrimination" (the only one being discriminated against here is the baker, he should be suing The State), this not about equality, this is about pushing a lifestyle and agenda onto everyone and everything, and destroying those who disagree with it.
The baker is discriminating. IMO while lame he should be allowed to.

This judge is disgusting and should be impeached, people are entitled to their beliefs...Just because you disagree with them doesn't make it against the law.

Just checking in after work on this thread-
Excellent post.
That judge abused his power.

The judge did not abuse his power; he did his job. What this business did was a clear-cut violation of C.R.S. 24-34-601(2).

Look, people who believe that homosexuality is a sin shouldn't be forced to assist homosexuals in any way pertaining to that sin(IE gay marriage).

If you believe that as soon as someone wants to be employed that they waive all rights to have an opinion. Then you are leaving people with only two choices. Conform or die.

Is that really the world you want to live in?

Right back atcha.
In any case, these are the very same bakers who will bake cakes for divorces, stem-cell research, cakes for adulterers, people who work on the Sabbath, tax cheats, tattooed people and wife beaters.
As soon as they come across a gay, they whip out the 'sin' card and get the vapours.

Only Christians are on the radar for some reason.
