Not hardly. The VA medical system is a 100% socialized, government-run, government-owned medical system. THAT's the problem. The government cannot provide honest, well-managed, affordable health CARE. It can only provide the perception of it as long as it can hide the disgrace of it.
As far as specifically blaming Bush for the VA disgrace, it seems Obama and Biden were the ones during their transition into the White House in (2008-09) to propose in their “Obama-Biden” plan to “make the VA a leader of national health care reform so that veterans get the best care possible.”
So THIS is the result?...Wow. Just think if they had done nothing.
Actually, The VA is, and always has, provided for veterans quite well. However, it does have it's problems, and their are many private hospitals who have their problems too.
the government CAN provide honest, well managed healthcare. The government HAS provided honest, well run health care in the past. And will continue to provide it, and fix problems as they arise, as these will be repaired.
What we don't need is more idiots like Bush sending tens of thousands out to be maimed and needing healthcare for life.
of she would ;they blame everything on Bush. But I clearly remember McCain bring it up in debate. and proposing a card they could use at any local hospital saying he gave up I fixing the system Just as I remember Romney naming Russia the biggest threat. Democrats made a joke of both and ignored both; plain and simple. The VA proposed to carry 1+ billion from current year to next year; yet democrats complain its funding. Its always about funding with democrats.

McCain, to his credit, was right on the money, but can we PLEASE stop pretending that Democrats are the ones who "want to defund our troops?"
Here are our beloved Republicans, voting AGAINST funding for the troops:
Finally, thanks to idiots like Bush, the VA is over-loaded since he just *had* to start that war in Iraqi... because "God" told him to do so... or to get revenge for his father... or to get no-bid contracts for Halliburton...
Doesn't anybody remember the 'scandal' when it was disclosed (during Bush's term) that Walter Reed Army Hospital was a disaster? This is not a new issue.
The scandal is that vets who were denied even being put on a waiting list are dying from lack of care and all the government does is play politics with it.
The opportunity to at least start to fix the situation has been around through several administrations and yet nothing has been done except to talk about it.
The Congresswoman is correct. But that doesn't mean that the Obama administration is guilt-free. The root cause of the currrent problems are easily traced back to Bush/Cheney. As a result of Iraq/Afghan wars, primarily ... daily visits to VA facilities have risen by 50% to more than 200,000 a day. The problems at the VA aren't at every facility, they're at the facilities seeing the biggest patient demands. Congress has some responsibility, as well - for not exercising oversight, for not responding to reports of problems, etc. There's enough 'blame' to go around.
Pelosi, and you, are incorrect.
I don't blame any president for this situation as none have day to day oversight. I blame congress, which does have oversight. This congress include Pelosi, who has fought every conservative effort (granted there were few) to correct this situation.
Hilary admitted to voting to go into Iraq and Afghanistan.... VOTED.
It was not GW. Acting like Obama the dictator and sending in the troops without the approval of the people(congress)
You are over looking the lies the Bush Admin told all of us including congress. In regards to going to Iraq. Never told us they were going to ignore Afghanistan.

I always said the Bush's reason himself was to get back at Hussein for planning to assassinate his daddy. Yes Cheney got his wish with Halliburton.
The key question is whether it is true, not whether it is "old."
