Hey does your country allow asylums from the US? I mean after all, its no longer the American Dream, now its the Canadian Dream
You mean like a refugee? Yes, some...if your life is in danger.
Otherwise, you have to have a skill we need. Or lots of money to start a business and employ Canadians.
Bonne Chance.

The APA?

Which one?

Do you mean the APA that listed homosexuality as a psychiatric disorder or the APA that reversed itself after their annual conference was disrupted by a threatening mob of drag queens?

Ancient history.

The Texas Republicans, however, are including this in their platform today-- in spite of the science telling them the opposite.

You can't use the APA as support for your position and ignore the fact that they reversed themselves for no other reason than they got really scared when a bunch of drag queens got in their faces.

If they had a good reason for reversing themselves, the timing (immediately following the confrontation) tells a different tale.

And while people do a lot crazier things than **** members of their own sex and I wouldn't personally classify a homosexual as being nuts just because they are *****, the APA is on record as saying just that.

Then they went on record saying exactly the opposite of that, so why should I take seriously what they say when apparently they don't?

But thats a problem for many on the right, they never see the long term.

You sure do throw that "founded science" thing around a lot.

OK, I'll bite.

Please present the scientific proof that free birth control reduces the number of people on welfare.

As a Republican and a Texan, I can't explain it to you as I don't understand it myself. I am disgusted my party would include this in the platform. This kind of social intrusion is harmful and cruel to homosexuals and has nothing, nothing to do with politics.

No kidding. If they wish they weren't gay, and I'd bet a whole lot of them have that wish, let them pay for their own treatment!

(Just between you and me, Toy, I'll bet 99% of the outraged R knockers missed this little bit: those patients seeking healing and wholeness from their homosexual lifestyle.)

I see no difference in Republicans condemning the homosexual lifestyle, this is what the referenced languages implies, and Democrats condemning Catholic hospitals, who treat all comers, rich, poor middle class, regardless of faith or color or sexuality, and forcing them to violate their faith and belief and supply something so trivial (in terms of financial cost) as insurance coverage for birth control for their staff.

Do we Republicans want our party to insert itself and demand authority over people's sex lives and personal beliefs? I don't.

Sex has no place in politics.

texas2yankee -- Did the Democrats ever put the 'Catholic hospital' thing in a party platform?

Remember this is the same group that wanted to outlaw 'rational thinking techniques' being taught to children. I guess because they know that people who think rationally don't vote GOP.
