I believe the death sentence can be included for a charge like that.
There were deserters in Vietnam, maybe you have some recent examples to even remotely think he will get a death sentence. Maybe you should wait for real courts with real lawyers and judges decide his fate, or at least wait for the court marshal.

And also wait for real evidence rather than Fox propaganda.

Irrelevant, a DESERTER in not a POW.

What a way to tarnish the names and sacrifices of REAL POWs.

BTW what kind of moron signs agreements he disagrees with?

Reagan, Clinton and Bush exercised their rights under many agreements they signed, delaying some presidential decisions for congressional approval would be ........ moronic.

As should be, only a traitor, moron, muslim sympathizer such a s Obama would hail this Bergdahl clown as a " war hero".

Bergdahls father should also have his communications with the Taliban scrutinized. That comment he made was treasonous and a slap in the face to are fine military men and women.

And yet another Obama apologist who refuses to live in REAL time.

Why is it that you people can never hold Obama accountable for squat?

It is always an excuse from the past to protect his failures NOW.

Congress did NOTHING about it then.

Paul Ryan has NOTHING.

It doesn't matter to the right that Ryan has nothing. "Having nothing" has not deterred Darrell Issa in the least. In fact, his most famous long-running show has yet another sequel in the works. Why should having no basis for an investigation stop Ryan when that tactic has worked so well for achieving its goal, which is to keep the far right frothing at the mouth in outrage?

The continuous GOP dog and pony shows serve their purpose well. Reading this board is a testament to that.
No different than democrats did. its politics as usual. In the end its up to army court to determine if he abandon his post and was deserter. If so he will then be tried and likely sentenced. One has to remember that both democrats and republicans had earlier turn down releasing these same five in such a deal. Obama should have known what was coming ;IMO. The hearings are about the swap release of the five not authorized by congress from Getmo.

Actually, it's a testament to the world of denial that liberals like you live in.

The IRS admitted wrongdoing and Lois Lerner took the 5th. But it was a phony scandal.
We have the Rhodes email showing that the White House coordinated the youtube video to hide failures in policy. But it was a phony scandal.
We have video of Obama speaking about the delays in the VA before he was even elected yet and he did nothing to improve the situation. But it was a phony scandal.
We have every single eyewitness saying that Bergdahl deserted with no contradictory evidence whatsoever and yet we have Susan Rice on video saying he served with distinction, we have the State Department calling his platoon liars, and the White House saying they are psychopathic. But it's a phony scandal.

See, the problem for you all is that "phony scandal" only works when you don't have proof that the scandal was real. Phony scandal would have worked if the IRS hadn't admitted that it happened, if the Rhodes email hadn't been released, and if Obama hadn't admitted the VA problem in his own words and pledged to solve it years ago. Phony scandal doesn't work anymore.

I wish he did notify congress, if he did what would you have to complain about. He went through this in 2011 and the deal fell through and the exchange for 5 Taliban was reported earlier this year, but they were never formally notified. How do you think that would have gone, we are officially notified and it's a great idea?

Anyway there have hundreds of detainees released with very small fanfare but now we exchange 5 prisoners that would have been gone anyway in 6 months and it's the end of the world.
