Again, if you knew anything you'd know that back then Republicans could stop any project because the 2/3rds rule which we have, thankfully, now gotten rid of. Seriously, man, educate yourself before you spout off about things you obviously know nothing about.

For @#$@ sake, nobody sees this just a normal course of business? What's the big deal here? The contractor screwed up, if that's true then it's in the contract how to make remedy. It happens all the time with all contractors.

Want to bet this contractor went back to China and is not "available" to redo his shoddy work? IMHO the people that forced the State to hire this company should be investigated, including personal financial records, to see if direct graft was involved. This includes the politicians that pressured the bureaucracy.

Even worse the American bid including building a new metal fabricating facility in the bay area so we would have had new capacity to build bridge components in state for either domestic or export markets.

It was a bad decision all around to let the Chinese get the contract.
I had no idea conservatives in California had that much power!

Leave it up to the tea party types to really mess things up.

What kind of idiot purchases ANYTHING from China when safety or structural integrity is critical? Anyone who has experience Chinese steel and mechanical products can testify that the stuff is absolute junk.

Steel is not steel, is not steel. There are actually differences in the quality of steel and products produced with steel.

Any idiot that allowed conditions where training deficits could expand to the point where they own us outright.

yeah yeah keep blaming republicans. The liberal democrat legislature was helpless in the entire process. Jerry Brown never had any input. Neither did whomever the mayor of San Francisco, whom I a am pretty sure was a dem. Never mind Willie Brown!

Why dont you people ever man up and accept responsibility for your failed policies?

Oh wait ... I said responsibility!
