While watching this video I did find it interesting that so many scream about there rights when it comes to guns or religion and yet the real attacks against our freedoms get ignored. Is it because it does not affect you directly as of right now ? Or could it be you just really don't care and instead bring up so many non-issues ?
Most people here in Louisiana love taking away freedom when it's "for public safety."
Louisiana has more cops and more prisoners per capita than any other state or nation in the world. They'll throw you in jail for not paying an inspection sticker fine, or for having bath salts, weed, or for having consensual sex with an adult in exchange for cash. Hell, you can go to jail in Louisiana just for being annoying on the Internet.
But if you try to limit the sale of assault rifles, they are OUTRAGED.
OP, where have you been? I'm pretty sure conservatives have been preaching about the slow, creeping degradation of our rights for about 50 years now. The latest salvo just happens to be gun rights. Everything else has been on the table for decades.
An attack on any of our rights granted to us in the Constitution is an attack on all of our rights. They are all equal in my eyes. If your not careful your rights will be "regulated" away as you put it. Doesn't matter what you call it that is the goal of many who think that piece of paper is the only thing stopping them from gaining what they really want.
I blame the media. The gullible, sweaty masses hear what they are supposed to be outraged about from the talking heads on TV.
The talking heads on TV are under pressure to justify their existence, and fill 24/7 with "news". It doesn't seem to matter how much of what they spew is of any use to anybody.
Take any cable news show. Have you ever noticed how they never ask the questions you would ask? I find it so frustrating that they might be interviewing someone who is very interesting and informative, yet they cut the person off, and the next thing you know, you are watching some show biz bimbo talk about his movie.
I hardly watch TV anymore.
