During. The trial proved that Martin was sitting on top of Zimmerman, leaning over him when Zimmerman shot him. Even the prosecution ended up conceding this point.
The trial did not prove anything of this sort. As a matter of fact, a witness testitified to the opposite and the prosecution never conceded this point but told the jury this version was physically impossible as Zimmerman could never had drawn his gun from this position. The prosecution later explained they were convinced Zimmerman approached Martin gun in hand and that was this conviction that made them prosecute the case.
Was Trayvon Martin there to give his side of the story? No? Then of course it's going to be a "clear case of self defense"
Trayvon Martin wasn't there in court because of his own actions and because he physically assaulted someone, if you want to blame someone for Trayvon Martin getting shot you should visit his grave... Maybe you could pour out a 40 of watermelon Ice Tea for your dead homie Tray Tray.
I've said ths many times now. City rule #1 is that you always look out for someone following you. In a car, on foot, you always pay attention if you turn a corner, and then another, and that person is still following you. And if you're on foot, and they're in a car, that's automatically suspicious. And if you go somewhere they can't drive, and they get out to follow you on foot, that is automatically dangerous.
This.
None of these Michael Dunns tries to see the incident from the Trayvon's perspective. You are 17 year old, walking home at night when you see someone following you in a car. Then they get out of their car and start following you on foot. When you run away, they chase you !!

Stand your ground applies to Martin too. That's what all of these guys pretend to not comprehend.
"She heard a kid crying (she sounds it out), and then she heard a shot, but was thinking maybe it was some kids playing. She went out to the porch. She saw a guy laying on the ground and could see another guy on top of him. She asked “what’s going on?” no answer, “what’s wrong with you, what’s going on?” The guy on top looked at her, and finally said “Call the police.” At that moment her roommate (Witness #5, Mary Cutcher) came back and told her to come inside."
O'MARA: Now let's go to this case that night that you saw the person you now know to be Trayvon Martin was on top, correct?
GOOD: Correct.
O'MARA: He was the one who was reigning blows down on the person on the bottom, George Zimmerman, right?
GOOD: That's what it looked like.

O'MARA: And what you saw was the person on top in an MMA-style straddle position. Correct?
GOOD: Correct.
O'MARA: That was further described, was it not, as being ground and pound?
GOOD: Correct.
O'MARA: What is ground and pound?
GOOD: That's usually what takes place in that type of position.
O'MARA: Sure, in MMA, mixed martial arts.
GOOD: Correct.
O'MARA: You knew it enough to give technology like ground and pound to what you saw?
GOOD: It was the first thing that came to my mind, yes.
O'MARA: That the person on top was grounding and pounding the person on the bottom.
GOOD: That's what it looked like, yes.
