In 2011, an earthquake caused a tsunami that killed nearly 16,000 people in Japan and caused an estimated 210 billion dollars in damage, making it one of the costliest natural disasters in history. When a Fukushima power plant was hit by the tsunami, it began releasing the largest amount of radioactive materials since the Chernobyl disaster of 1986. Now, three years later, there are serious concerns about the levels of radiation contamination leaking not only into Japan, but also into the Pacific Ocean and beyond.

This video brings you an inside look into what’s really going on in Fukushima.

Well if nothing else there is a certain irony in the one nation that was the victim of a deliberate nuclear attack and subsequent ability to assuage some of it's guilt for perpetrating atrocities during WWII by pointing a finger at the U.S. has now come under the full weight of it's own folly and once again the rest of the world will have to wait 50 years or so for any apology.

I remember well the protests by younger Japanese over something as relatively benign as the visitation to it's harbours of nuclear equipped American ships. Seems they should have been more vigilant with their own Government and Corporations planting the seeds of the very disaster they were concerned about right under their lofty little noses.

It is a small satisfaction to be sure but nevertheless still an amazing twist of fate. Hubris; Japan's looking glass.

The scientific community should be dropping everything and working 24/7 to find a way to render all of the contaminated tertiary materials harmless through a battery of processes regardless of cost.

It's not really shocking at all, in fact it's pretty dishonest.

The Fukushima disaster was bad. There is no doubt about that. The destruction and radiation is still a huge issue. No where near what the producer thinks it is though.

After watching it (not that long ago) the video is full of the narrator alluding to being deceived by the government, and keeping people in the dark instead of telling people the full story. His evidence is...well that he really believes it. He has no idea what the "full story" is. They were allowed to walk around the sites, including the worse affected sites, with their own equipment and spouted again they were being deceived by either their own equipment...the ground...spooky gesticulating wildly about "them"...

If it's so dangerous, and the government is not telling them, why are they not even wearing suits when they are investigating the site?

If I was investigating and believe it was hundreds, if not thousands, of times worse then "they" said I would be in a lead suit...with lead underwear.

The workers are since they spend at least 8 hours a day, every day, at the site since not too long after the disaster and just in case they do find something worse during the cleanup it's the safest bet. The same thing is done while producing microwave popcorn because of diacetyl, which is still available for sale.

There is nothing that can be done to show his paranoia and fear might be wrong. Anything anyone else says, including their own equipment, cannot disprove this cover-up that he has already convinced himself is there. Even though no one can find it. This scaremongering just wastes time and resources that can be done to actually clean up and mitigate what has actually happened...instead of gibbering like a lunatic.

It should be more than just the "scientific community".

Don't look for help from Bill Gates or Ted Turner, as they are on a global death trip.
