70 years and no one had a problem until now in the age where everyone's overly offended. I have never in my life heard anyone use Redskins as a bad word or desparaging term. Yet now it is? Enough with the damn word police! Find something actually important to worry about instead of petty bs.
Lets just get all politically correct & change these names too while we're at it...
Kansas City Chiefs - Why has no one mentioned this name along with the Redskins?
Dallas Cowboys - offensive to Indians
Cleveland Browns - offensive to dark skin people
New Orleans Saints - offensive to Atheists & non-Christians
New York Giants - offensive to little people
Oakland Raiders - offensive to those with one eye & blind people
New England Patriots - offensive to terrorists
Insert animal teams - offensive to PETA activists...cruelity to animals
Someone said redskins is a term that has the same connotations as the N word. Lol No it doesn't. In what world were people degrading Indians with the term redskin? There are many schools with the mascot of Redskins, many of them are Indians. You couldn't pay a black person to attend a school with a mascot of the N word. The terms aren't even close to the same thing. Get a damn clue
One more time.
How do you know? Are you an Indian?
The egotistical, arrogant insistence that you know what Indians think or should think is jaw-dropping. Let them decide for themselves -- and yes, many Indians find it offensive.
Are you telling Mohawkx, for example, that he and other Indians he knows are not allowed to find it offensive because you say so?
Then answer my question. Why do you want to use the N word so badly?
Why not?
It is a legitimate word.
Maybe I enjoy 'offending' people?
Maybe I get a kick out of watching liberals going into that faux outrage mode that they're known for .. over a stupid word?

Why not? Perhaps it has everything to do with the fact that the N word was used to humiliate and de-humanized Black Americans. Why else would anyone use it? And if you get a kick out of offending people, perhaps there you are the one who has issues. Only those who have very low self-esteem want to intentionally offend other people.
If it is such a stupid word, then why do you want to use it so bad?

Hm, so if I called you a "moron" or "idiot" or "sh**head" or "goatish, fly-bitten malt-worm," you wouldn't understand that I'm deliberately attacking, denigrating, dismissing and demeaning you as an inferior human being?

What the #hell is wrong with you people?
No One is saying that anyone is not being allowed to be offended!
We are saying .. SO WHAT?
I am offended by Everything but I don't expect a Government agency to use their position to make others fit my idea of being 'non offensive'!
