Personally, I think our expectations were way too high with Obama. Enough people bought into "Hope and Change" without really thinking about how it would be accomplished.

I also think that it's very difficult in today's society to have a successful president. A significant percentage of the population is rooting for you to fail and will do anything to accomplish this goal.

It's sad that this is the way things are.
Honestly, I think it's because we, the voting public...have gotten frickin' stupid over the last 30 years or so. The public is so used to mindless talking heads and actors that can pretend to be something they are not...that the entire concept of expecting "substance" from our elected officials is forgotten. THe higher you go in government the more that becomes true. We accept a couple of bad options to chose from in November. And it isn't just one party, both major ones are pretty sad.

It is really sad how blind people can be. Willful blindness.

And case in point of the typical American Electorate!

Thank you Bob, for providing the irrefutable evidence the OP needed.

No, they were bad decisions you support. Probably because they made you feel good after 911wah. Or maybe there's another reason you support them. Nevertheless, when one considers the results of those decisions it's easy to see they weren't just bad, but wrong.

Your comment is deplorable racism. just what qualified Bush to become POTUS? He only became Potus by accident and then was re-elected because of his great campaigning skills and his Daddy's name. He was also AA. You make excuses for Bush because he's white and attribute Obam's failure to his race.

^^^I agree

From my check books standpoint, it's a spending contest and each one has to outdo the guy before him. The problem is they are succeeding
