Do Congress people still actually have some sort of duties to perfom other than berating people? ‘Seems that’s what most of them do most of the time.

How about actually “acting” on this otherwise feigned outrage for a change?

I am an optimist, so I'm always looking for a little common sense, and that critical thought process which supersedes ideology. It is absolutely amazing how ridiculous some are willing to look in their defense of the indefensible.

It is mind numbing.

The IRS does attack people. That's what this whole thing is about. There's no "as if" here. Regardless of what else is or is not true, the IRS admitted that its agents in Cincinnati used their power to attempt to stop conservative speech.

Paul Ryan doesn't believe what the commissioner says because Paul Ryan does not want to believe him. Nothing the guy says will satisfy Paul Ryan.
Or Maybe Paul Ryan doesn't believe the commissioner because the IRS said that no targeting happened, then admitted that targeting happened but said it was limited, then it turned out it was wider than they admitted, then they said it didn't go any higher than local officers, then it turned out that it did go higher than local officers, then said they targeted progressive groups too, then it turned all 7 progressive groups got fast track approval in time for the election while none of the over 100 conservative groups got approved, then said they would turn over all the emails, then said they didn't have the emails due to a crash which supposedly occurred before they said they would turn over those emails.

So why waste time on the dog and pony show? Oh, I know: to get on TV. He thinks he looks like a big man when screaming at someone on TV. Listen to how Ryan delivers his lines. They're completely rehearsed.
Yes, Paul Ryan's lines were completely rehearsed so therefore the IRS is innocent of any wrongdoing. Why waste time on this dog and pony show. Your logic leaves something to be desired. We should get the word out to defense attorneys all over the nation. As long as they can make the prosecutor look like his lines are rehearsed, then the case can be dropped. Actual guilt or innocence doesn't matter.

Paul Ryan comes pretty close to the feeling I have, and I'm wondering why he isn't the vice president rather than the clown we have in office whom they have to gag because every other word out of the man's mouth is a disgrace.

Paul Ryan calling out the absolutely brain-dead, defiant and unapologetic IRS commissioner:

Anyone with a half of a brain does not buy the crap the IRS is peddling!!!
This son of a ***** with his haughty frigging smug attitude is so full of it
Bring on the Special Counsel and quit screwing around!!!

Over the next 2 years, she received 6 visits from the FBI, her personal and business taxes were audited, OSHA and BATF both visited her business a total of 3 times, and she was harassed by the IRS non stop. They wanted copies of every FB post, every tweet, every speech she had ever given. They wanted a written declaration of any future political aspirations she might have.

She had never been audited or investigated by a government agency before her non profit filing. But in the two years after, she had 27 contacts with government agencies.

"Coincidentally," Elijah Cummins was contacted the IRS at the same time screaming for them to shut down True the Vote. And Lois Lerner was sending e-mails to the DOJ asking if they could find a way tom prosecute these groups. She fed the DOJ more than a million pages of confidential tax payer info. And in one e-mail, recommended bringing in the FEC to see what they could do.

I imagine Catherine Engelbrecht felt pretty darn attacked by the IRS.

Every American should be concerned about a government that is this out of control.
Should be... but the partisan fools think this is a game. They don't care as long as it is Obama abusing the citizens of this nation. They are willing to allow such blatant fraud and abuse from their political party because deep inside they are little fascists too.

Really disappointing that the best he has to offer is screaming at and bullying a witness without even giving him time to respond.

More clear than ever that this is political theater and not a serious investigation.
Paul Ryan looked like a spoiled kid with that fit he had.

Trying to reason with the unreasonable is a futile exercise.

Let's consider that this persons entire premise for ignoring the whole IRS scandal is that Ryan only wanted to get on television...

I'll wait for you to climb back in your chair. I fell over laughing, and I'm not a Republican, so I can only assume plenty of others did as well.

They believe (wrongly) that fascism is a right wing thing, so they would actually be communists/socialists/Marxists. Just ask them if they want a one party system and most of them will say yes. That's the real progressive movement.

Great post!

The commissioner did not like being called a liar and I don't blame him.
