This nation is basically the subjects of corporations. They right our laws and buy up our leaders. Those from certain political parties are fine with this - "corporations are people, too" - thanks to a double-standard... power and wealth that is accountable to no one is "bad" if in the hands of the government, but "good" if in the hands of big business, or so we're to believe...
Every one of us is pretty much 100% dependent on corporations. You can complain about them all you want, but you would not live long without them at this point in history. And who do you have to thank for being enslaved by corporations? You might guess Satan... but you would be wrong. You can thank your government. The corporation is a government-spawned construct. I wouldn't doubt if the government knew exactly what they would lead to when they first devised them.

Municipal corps are heavily invested in TNCs in many ways. Govt investment funds are big money in the financial markets. Profit and revenue models become joined.
They are all corporate employees. Just different sides of the same coin.
Are you a corporation, or the subject of a corporation?
America, and 99% of us who live here, are owned by corporate interests who have armies of lobbyists, lawyers and accountants who write the laws and transfer the funds to have their bought and paid for politicians pass the legislation the corporations present to them.
Since 2012, even the supreme court has been bought by corporate interests who got a 5 - 4 vote in their favor on Citizens United, driving a nail in the coffin of the US public interest.
Well, yes and no. Someone put the silly idea in this woman's head that court proceedings are more like magic, that the right incantation will save you. Now she's looking at pretty serious jail time. I almost (almost) feel sorry for her - someone put stupid ideas in her head, and now she's paying a pretty hefty price. We're spending the court's time and money on fighting willful ignorance.
Ah well - pour encourager les autres, or something.

I did not think you would be agreeing with this guy.
What can we do about, the control other people have over our own destinies.
