When asked whether homosexuality is a disorder he responded:

Whether or not you feel compelled to follow a particular lifestyle or not," he said, "you have the ability to decide not to do that. I may have the genetic coding that I'm inclined to be an alcoholic, but I have the desire not to do that. And I look at the homosexual issue the same way.

Rick Perry "stepped right in it" comparing gays to alcoholics - CBS News)

That's rich. At least he admits to making a pretty bad faux pas.

Republicans should just take a page from Gov. Walker and backtrack from their very vocal and forceful opposition, to a nice, safe non-position of refusing to respond to any more questions on the subject because "It really doesn't matter." As weaselly as that is, it's infinitely better than anything else that ever comes out of a Republican's mouth regarding homosexuality.

Better a weasel than a cretin, I guess.

There's a big difference between Perry and Walker. Perry is a stupid moron. He's in the Sarah Palin camp. Shoots his mouth off because he doesn't know any better.

Then there's Walker. He's much more like Michele Bachmann. Not stupid, just completely crazy with a big helping of evil.

Perry is wrong and ignorant about homosexuality, but he isn't stupid. Hopefully, one day he will become "enlightened" as Dear Leader was a scant two years ago.

Yep... but when we bring this up, those on the far-right claim that there "is no evidence that the Tea Party / people on the far right hate gays / are bigoted." It's such a farce...

Homosexuals do not have a biological predisposition to same-sex attraction?

Isn't the size, shape and internal workings of the amygdala a biological predisposition?
