I have interviewed for positions with the UN. Neither of those positions or interviews were in NY. In fact, they were in Middle East and that's where I interviewed. I turned down all subsequent job offers.... but it goes to prove that just because the UN is headquartered in NY does not mean they need to post the position in NY as you have asserted.

So, I will ask you again: Why does this job description need to be filled in NY?

I'm not calling you a liar but I seriously doubt you had a direct offer of employment from the U.N. Most people don't go through the entire hiring process only to turn down "multiple" offers.
