Everything is in decline in your once great state.[
QUOTE=LosFeliz_Diva;2271494]we already have our own military. it's called the california state defense force. state militias/defense forces are under the control of the standing governor. i'm not talking about national guard, these units can't be called to active duty in the US armed forces. only about half of our states in the union exercise their right to a state militia.
we're also one of a handful of states with a naval militia.
not bad for a bunch of non contributing tree huggers.
considering our size, annual revenue, global perspective/appeal, diversity, climate, ability to produce our own food and numermous other things.. i'd be willing to place a nice bet that we, as a sovreign nation, would be more than capable of sustaining ourselves.
on the global scale, california is largely considered one of the most progressive states in the union. it only seems that people in the US have gripes with california. i don't feel that same vibe when i travel to europe. usually when they find out i'm from the US i see a little bit of disdain.. then they find out i'm from California then it's like a whole other thing.
think about the billions we toss into the pot annually. what natural disaster have we EVER had that topped that in one bloody year? if we invested those tax dollars into our own state we'd be fine. we're obviously more than self sufficient.
i'd love to see these leech states that sit and talk crap about CA all day SERIOUSLY fare without us. it's not that californians are stuck up or we think we're better.. we just constantly hear how the rest of the US thinks they could do without us when we know the truth here. we know what we contribute to a country that acts like we're dispendable.[/quote]
i'm just curious.. and don't flame people that admit to feeling this way.
i'd love to know who here would love to see their state or region secede from the union. i'm not saying it's possible nor am i saying we should- merely curious.
i'm saying in a perfect world, WHO would want to see their state/region secede from the union and why?
also what state/region resources do you (as secessionists) feel are available to sustain the region as an independant nation?
I'd like to see EVERY state independent from the federal government. I'm not sure we need a CENTRAL government at all. 50 individual states...maybe under Articles of Confederation.
I'd like to see California as an independent country. I don't think we are appreciated very much by the rest of the USA.
So would I.... We should admit defeat there, pull our forces back to the Sierria Nevedas and dig in on a line from Canada to Mexico. Then the PRK can go merrily to heck on it's own We split from SJ during the GWF of the earlys 90's and left loved ones behind the kalifornia kurtian
Also agree that California would do better separate from the US. We are more progressive in a country where some people still believe in creationism/school prayer. Having Bush as president made a lot of Californians think about how we didn't want to even be considered Americans [embarrassed & ashamed].
Alot of people get the impression the California is becoming unamerican already!
Texas is already its own "other country". And since we supply 1/3 of the nation's energy needs, if we were to secede, wouldn't we be sitting pretty! Watch out what you wish for.
Hollywood would have not have squat to say about it. Like Hollywood really likes the military too.lol
