Andrés Escobar own goal (World Cup 1994: USA - Colombia) - YouTube
Escobar wasn't killed for the own goal. In fact, he was given open arms upon his arrival to Colombia. His death is a result of an altercation outside of a bar having nothing to do with the own goal. It just happened to be days after the team returned back to Colombia.

Both sets of my great grand parents were born in Ireland.

Is that a problem???

Actually, this is what I see as a problem. Ann Coulter is making comments about soccer being a "sign of moral decay", relating it to immigration, and she is a descendent of immigrants.

Nope, just saying her paternal gg grandparents didn't get here in time to fight in the RW. She was being a hypocrite.

Yes, of course. You are a "New American" according to Ann (Dan). (sarcasm)

Coulter: Any growing interest in soccer a sign of nation's moral decay
I agree with Coulter. Soccer is a game for small children, women, and girly-men, and not really a sport.

What does the number of days after he returned have to do with anything?

He originally planned to go to Las Vegas.

The central fact remains that he was killed because of the own goal, and if the U.S. Navy SEAL's had not killed Pablo Esocobar, Andres Escobar (no relation) would still be alive today.

Pablo Escobar financially supported Colombian soccer.
