We are closing in on 100 years of illegal immigration. Beginning in the 1920's growers in the SW demanded cheap labor and recruited from Mexico. There was a break during the Great Depression when US workers were willing to pick the crops in exchange for food and pennies.

Post WW2 the recruitment resumed. The US and Mexico reached an agreement that X number of temporary migrants could be imported in exchange for a guaranteed wage, housing and food most importantly, the US agreed to close the border. Reality was that US growers ignored these agreements. The workers became indentured slaves and quickly were put to work inside. Recruitment of undocumented workers went unchecked.

Then came the short lived Operation ******* in the 50's. This initiative was directed at preventing workers from seeking work beyond the farms in the SW. Despite the administration's claims that it had deported up to 10 million, the actual INS records show about one- tenth of the claim had been deported.

The operation eventually resorted to using boats for deportation because the border was a revolving door. If I recall my history correctly, there was a mutiny on the final boat run.

Forward to 1986, when Reagan signed off on amnesty, he promised to secure the borders neither he nor subsequent admins did so. This is no accident and both parties own it.

So called experts now project it will cost $40 billion a year to seal the borders.

In the meantime, most states can't be bothered to implement e-verify.

This is no accident and it's about as bipartisan as it gets in the US.

100 years of history to get to right now.

And people wonder why American patriots distrust the current government? They should no longer wonder. The evidence is all around us if we had eyes to see and ears to hear.

Could we just stick to the subject? You have no idea who I "follow". (Answer-damn few, and not Obama.) You have no idea of my opinions on immigration, either.

Thus far there have been two cases of swine flu documented at one detention camp. TB has always been in the US, not in large numbers, but here nevertheless. We've seen no documentation that any workers have been "threatened".

Wise person you are then. I don't trust a damn freaking thing that comes out of the mouth of this President or his whack job, administration.

Who by the way, has time for 2 fundraisers while his meeting with Perry, but cannot seem to find time to see the devastation for himself. And talk to those who live this harsh reality. That should say something about Obama to all of you. Where lie his priorities, and please save your old tired worn out excuses.

Tired of the gosh darn blame games, and his arrogant pig headed attitude.

What are you talking about. The only harsh reality here is the children collected into detention. So you want to make Obama more sensitive to the kids? Boy that makes a lot of sense. The reality at the river constist of a public park through which the illegals enter the US. You think that is somehow harsh?
