Why Even the US Government is Afraid of Blackwater's Mercenaries

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZicjNx1BXg

"Abby Martin discusses a New York Times revelation concerning officials at Blackwater threatening to murder State Department officials, and how this is just the latest example of Blackwater's criminal, murderous and unaccountable legacy."

Here's the NYT article for reference.

Very troubling if substantiated. I've always thought that privatizing and outsourcing of military and security operations can lead straight to corruption.

Can we get a list of the stockholders, here?

We already know the stakeholders.

The Times article was very interesting...and honestly, I think it's the tip of the iceberg...I think there are ALOT more of these than we're even aware of. The military is quite possibly just a constellation of organized gangs with a mutual understanding.

Honestly...I have far less fear of Blackwater than of the lies from the NYT.

The problem with outsourcing military and security operations is that you create an incentive to keep wars going on indefinitely. This probably helps explain why those in the pocket of the Military Industrial Complex never want to end conflicts or are always willing to start a new one.

Here's Newsweek's take on the Blackwater scandal.

I have a real issue with a standing mercenary army on our soil. The MSM doesn't come close to the issues mercs bring up. I've spoken with more than one soldier who had all sorts of problems with Blackwater employees in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Blackwater is a bad idea from start to finish yet we keep prefer to put blinders on about them. There are times I don't know who to be more disturbed by: Blackwater or the American people re Blackwater.

Isn't it illegal for the U.S. to employee mercenaries?
